Senior PHP Software Engineer

Architect and build scalable solutions for Africa’s top e-commerce platform, guiding the tech stack from legacy systems to modern architectures while driving innovation in payments, logistics, and customer apps, all with a focus on high performance, clean code, and a security-first mindset. You’ll mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and foster best practices across multi-disciplinary teams, balancing maintenance with fresh development and promoting collaboration. Working in an Agile/Scrum setup, you’ll manage projects to deliver stable, innovative systems, taking full ownership of technical outcomes and ensuring smooth teamwork across the board.

Technical Skills

• 8+ years of PHP development experience

• Expert knowledge of modern frameworks (Zend Expressive, Laravel, Symfony)

• Advanced database skills (MySQL optimization, NoSQL)

• Experience with high-transaction platforms

• Proficiency in:
  

  • Message queuing (Kafka)

  • Caching (Redis)

  • Microservices architecture

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • System monitoring

  • Git version control

• Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

Architecture & Design

• Proven experience with design patterns
