Internal Auditor

Support the evaluation of financial, operational, and management systems at the University and its affiliates, with a focus on assessing system design, risk management, and internal controls. The role involves contributing to the preparation of risk-based audit plans, conducting risk assessments tailored to specific areas, and identifying significant weaknesses within those areas. The officer prepares written reports for the Director of Internal Audit, highlighting key control points and weaknesses, and recommending improvements. This position also supports investigations of suspected fraud, assists in project reviews and special audit assignments, and provides value-added internal consulting services. Additionally, the officer helps ensure comprehensive audit programs are developed and may undertake other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in the following fields:

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)

• Bachelor of Business Management (Accounting & Finance)

• Bachelor of Science (Statistics & Economics)

• Bachelor of Science (Accounting & Finance)               

• A Master's degree will be an added advantage

• Part or full qualifications as CISA, CISM or CISSP will be an added advantage

• CPA, ACCA or CIA certifications will be an added advantage.

• At least 5 years' experience gained in an audit environment as an assistant internal auditor.

• Must be registered with a relevant Professional body.
