Technician II (media Laboratory)

Job Description

Responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the media laboratory, ensuring the proper functioning of audio-visual and broadcasting equipment. The role includes assisting students and faculty with practical sessions, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining lab inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Additionally, the technician supports multimedia production, editing, and live streaming as required.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be holders of at least KCSE C- (Minus) / DIV III, and a Diploma in Mass Media, Journalism, or Media/Broadcast Technology from a recognized institution.

  • Have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a media lab, or broadcast studio preferably in an institution of higher learning;

  • Have experience in operating and maintaining media production equipment such as cameras, microphones, audio mixers, lighting equipment, and video and audio editing software;

  • Have proficiency in using and troubleshooting various media production equipment; and

  • Have a basic understanding of IT systems and networking as related to media production.

 

A relevant Higher Diploma will be an added advantage.
