The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of the hospital’s support services, including biomedical engineering, facilities management, and Supply Chain. This role will ensure that hospital operations run smoothly, safely, and effectively, supporting clinical and administrative functions in alignment with hospital goals. The Head of Operations will work closely with senior leadership to develop, implement, and optimize operational processes, ensuring high standards of service, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
The Head of Operations will lead and manage the hospital’s support services, including biomedical engineering, facilities management, and supply chain, developing and implementing strategic operational plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The role involves aligning operational strategies with the hospital’s mission, providing leadership to department heads, ensuring staff development and engagement, and overseeing the maintenance and safe operation of medical equipment in accordance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the position will manage the hospital’s physical infrastructure, ensuring it meets high safety, cleanliness, and functionality standards, while also implementing strategies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. The Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective solutions that support hospital operations.
The role requires financial oversight, including managing departmental budgets, analyzing costs, and proposing initiatives to optimize resources without compromising quality. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years at a senior level. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership, project management, and financial skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations and regulatory requirements. The ability to manage multiple departments, prioritize competing demands, and work independently is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in hospitals with national and international accreditations is also preferred.
