You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting all database installations within the Old Mutual ecosystem, including backup and data warehouse requirements. This role requires you to ensure databases are optimized for performance and security, and to collaborate with the ICT Security team on compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Database administration
Certified Database administrator with in-depth understanding of both Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
Experience as a DBA on ORACLE 11g/SQL, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Experience working with business intelligence tools such as Power BI
Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Methodologies
Experience working with a Data Warehouse and/or relational databases is required
Knowledge in MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases is required
Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
Solid understanding of data modelling, extraction, transformation and batch load processing is required
Skilled in database security configuration
Experience in customer screening /AML solutions will be an added advantage
