Responsible for supporting environmental projects and initiatives, conducting research on sustainability and conservation policies, assisting in data collection and analysis, and contributing to environmental awareness campaigns. This role also involves coordinating with stakeholders, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Must meet one of the following at the time of application:
Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher).
Be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
Have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Computer literate in standard software applications.
Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
Ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs, with openness to understanding and respecting differing opinions.
Field of study:
Degree in one or more of the sciences and/or a field relevant to the environment, such as:
Environmental Studies
Environmental Economics
Environmental Assessments
Environmental Monitoring
Climate Change and Services
International Studies
Mathematics
Statistics
Computer Science
Information Technology
No prior work experience required.
Training, education, advanced coursework, or skills should contribute to the work of the United Nations during the internship.
