About Africa Nazarene University

Africa Nazarene University (ANU) is a private Christian university established in 1994 as the first Nazarene university outside North America. Located on a 124-acre campus near Ongata Rongai Town, Kenya, the institution was founded by the Church of the Nazarene to address societal challenges through higher education.

The university provides holistic education through 36 academic programs across various disciplines, both on campus and through their online platform. Initially starting with programs in Theology and Business Administration, ANU has expanded its offerings while maintaining Christ-centered academic excellence and transformative leadership development. The institution serves over 3,000 students from across Africa and globally.

ANU operates under three core values: Character (faith exploration), Competence (career development), and Community (world engagement). The university received its Charter in 2002, becoming the first private university in Kenya to achieve accreditation without external affiliation. They offer unique opportunities including semester abroad programs at sister institutions in the US and maintain a diverse international faculty through the Global Church of the Nazarene network.
