The role

Job Description

You will oversee the Academics, Research, Extension, and Student Affairs Division of the university college. You will be responsible for coordinating academic policies, directing academic programmes, managing student affairs, and driving research and innovation initiatives.

What you need

Requirements

At least an Associate Professor rank and holder of an earned Doctorate degree or equivalent qualification from a university recognized and accredited in Kenya
Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant administrative, academic and research experience, three (3) of which must be at management level
Substantively held senior administrative position (such as Deputy Principal in a university college, Director/Deputy Director of an Institute/Directorate/Campus, Dean of a Faculty/School, or Chairperson of a department in a recognized university)
Leadership training from a recognized and accredited institution
Proven scholarly record demonstrated by publications in internationally peer-refereed journals or university-related books
Proven track record in formulating and managing academic programmes, successfully supervising Masters and PhD students, and mentoring postgraduate and academic colleagues
Experience supervising postgraduate students
Understanding of the structural, legislative, and regulatory framework for administering university education in Kenya
Demonstrable ability to attract project grants and awards
Demonstrable ability to develop curricula, programmes, and projects
Demonstrated competence in administrative and financial leadership in an academic and research environment
Good understanding of government financial and fiscal policies, strategic planning, Vision 2030 flagship projects, and the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act
Membership in a relevant professional body where applicable
Excellent understanding of current trends in university education, training, and research nationally and globally
Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
