The role
You will provide technical backstopping for UNEP's safeguards activities in the Africa Region under the UN-REDD 2026 country workplans, reviewing national policies, laws and regulations relevant to REDD+ safeguards and analysing safeguards gaps against UNFCCC Cancun Safeguards, ART-TREES and other frameworks. You will also draft technical notes and briefing materials, maintain digital repositories of country safeguards materials, and organize safeguards workshops, webinars and knowledge exchange events.
